The Negroni is a short drink cocktail that balances bitterness and sweet spices, and is enlivened by the invigorating gin. The story goes that in 1919, Count Camillo Negroni once asked a bartender to spice up his Americano (vermouth bitter, soda water).
The bartender, Fosco Scarselli, complied, replacing the soda water with gin.
The Count liked this drink so much that it became his favorite drink.
