Algarve Fleur de Sel comes to us from the south of Portugal, from the Ria Formosa National Park. Mild in taste and crunchy in consistency, it is renowned among the greatest chefs.
In this region, salt harvesting is an ancestral activity with traces of exploitation dating back more than 2,000 years. Recognizable by their matte white color and fine grain, these small crystals are obtained thanks to the sunshine of the location of its salt marshes. The 300 days of sunshine per year are conducive to natural evaporation and consequently to the harvest of fleur de sel.
